    canon xsi AE lock* will not stay on long enought to recompose why?

    when I use my AE lock * button on my canon xsi it will not stay on long enought for me to recompose and shoot, you have to be within 5 seconds or else it goes off. HELP Do I press the star button first or the shutter button then the star button

    Why dose my canon xsi pop up flash over expose everything I shoot indoors.?
