    Manufacture year of Suzuki Outboard?

    I just got back from the Suzuki dealer and I feel that they could really not code this serial number. So,they wanted to the color of the decal-blue. Some one out there must know what this serial sequence indicates; 00994/801149 type DT9.9c They said it was a 1988,this does not make sense. Thanks
