    It's not so much sinking that will be the problem as the fact that you may lift it, thus destroying the turf's attempt at rooting. I'd agree, you need to leave it to settle in and begin to grow vigorously before you go disturbing it. At least a good couple of weeks, if not longer. Personally...

    As JG says, the Polo has a weird vacuum operated locking system. Once you've persuaded it to open, the common "cure" is to disconnect the vacuum lock and get yourself an ordinary locking cap. You may, though, be able to get at the pipe and track it, looking for leaks or a disconnection.

    Why go to law about it? Can you not discuss it with your neighbour? Alll it needs is for the offending roots to be cut and removed.
