my flash drive will work on my laptop, but not my desktop. like it wont even show up on the desktop, my external reads fine, but the flash wont read at all??? it found it originally. said it needed software. i then looked online and there was none. and then i tried again, but it wont read

its and old cingular based v3. the screen is broken so i cant transfer it to my Sim card. i have tried using bitpim, and i have it backed up off the Motorola backup system off the Motorola website. i just cant read it or figure out how to transfer it onto bitpim. please help me.
