I don't really care about form factor. I'm basically trying to get four things out of the switch: 1. park my cell number 2. don't lose any texts 3. tether so I can eliminate my broadband card 4. SAVE MONEY! ;)

Android is very user friendly once you get to know it. WebOS is pretty though.. and the Moment doesn't have as much processing power as the Pre and it's still on 1.5 but I think you might be happier with the Moment, Android shows lots of promise.

some strange things cannot do a hard reset any longer with new firmware, tried three times and all it does is shut down the phone and reboots back to regular screen as if nothing happened. Cannot figure it out.

You're right, they're just trying to cover their butts against the knockoffs. I wouldn't worry about Transcend, or anything Newegg carries for that matter. I'm gonna just look for something class 6 and cheap. If you're lucky people will post their speed tests in reviews.
