My one dog lunges at stuff like that too. The only way to stop it is to scold them when they lunge. My dog wears a pincher/choker collar and I just pull back slightly and she will stop. :) ~ Oh and btw, it's not good for dogs to be off-leash on walks. I have had bad experiences with unleashed...
