Hello, I don't usually post on this board but I have always had asthma which is usually well controlled with Seritide & the odd puff of Ventolin when required. Earlier this week I caught a cold which rapidly went to my chest & the asthma got really bad.
My Dr diagnosed Bronchitis & put me on...
Yes, it certainly could be reflux related! I have had bad chest pain at times even though I've been on Nexium for a few years. You really need to see a Gastro specialist & have a scope to be sure though. A definite diagnosis would also give you peace of mind- even if it isn't the news you...
My symptoms are worse during the evening- & frequently prevent me sleeping up to as late as 2am! Once I can stop the throat clearing/coughing & actually get to sleep then I am fine till about 1/2 hour after I get up. Then the process starts again! Really miserable complaint, isn't it!
I'm on Nexium but I find adding Mylanta Emulsion at night helps a lot! I'm at my worst when I lie down but if I take the Mylanta about 1 hour before bed it makes a huge difference! Good luck! ;)
I take mine first thing in the morning with my first glass of water. I would imagine that it would take some time for Nexium, or anything else for that matter, to get right through the system! ;)
An endoscopy is a good idea- they can actually see what is happening down there & then maybe you can get a firm diagnoses. I don't have the bad breath thing- just the constant cough & nausea- also lump in the throat feeling & difficulty swallowing when lying down. I take Nexium but it doesn't...

I have no difficulty swallowing food really- just my own saliva- particularly...
I hate taking Nexium too & sometimes wonder whether it's working. I don't get pain as such- just this awful coughing/throat clearing- which is quite uncontrollable & keeps me awake far too often. Mine seems to be at it's worst about 3 hours after a meal I'd say. Sipping warm water helps a bit...
I have had LPR for some time- several years now! When I was diagnosed I was told I had a hiatus hernia too. My main symptom is the cough/throat clearing which drives me (& my family) mad! I don't suffer from chest pain or heart burn at all really but lately I have been having trouble...
