What are the Yahoo points for? Can they eventually be cashed in for visa gift cards, prizes, coupon, merchandise or what?

I can't seem to get my home page to stay on att my yahoo.com. ATT is my homepage, but I cannot get it to come back up. I get alol, bing, freeride, etc., sites I never asked for. please help me.
