I have a blackberry pearl and I bought a micro sd and it is supported by my 4.5 os and it wont even give me the option to change media support on please help!

When I put in a micro sd card it doesn't recognize it and it wont even give me the option to turn media support on it has a little red lock next to it! Ive read online and it says something about bes and IT or something like that? Any ideas on how to fix it? Your suggestions are much appreciated :))
