    Do you need the foot pod to track your distance outdoors with the garmin forerunner

    305 ? I'm looking at getting a garmin forerunner 305 and I was wondering if I needed to get the foot pod to track my distance when I'm outside, or does it just run off of GPS? Thanks for your help.
