The Dark Knight is not even in the top 10 best movies ever. It was good, but way to god damned long. It is only getting great reviews because of Heath Ledger's death. It was the best Batman movie. Probably the best superhero movie. It is NOT the best movie.

There's one change that kind of contradicts that. The death of a certain character in the movie did not happen in the book, from what I've learned. This character was--as I understand it--killed off "for dramatic effect". That sounds pretty dark to me...

I prefer smart main characters. I don't mind dumb characters as long as they're not aggressively mean or obnoxious (examples of M and O: Fanboy and Chum Chum, Cosmo, Peter Griffin). Homer Simpson isn't in that crowd because he's basically goodhearted, same with Fry (from Futurama).
