    i dont want to pay for data.. and the only phones that i can get from att without a data plan, well.. SUCKS... so im going to buy an unlocked htc phone from a different gsm carrier.. my question is.. will att find out i'm using a smartphone and charge me for data, even if i dont go online?

    like i want to buy a tmobile htc phone, but i'm using at&t's service.. and im not getting a data plan.. but the phone comes with wifi.. so does that mean i can still use the internet even if i have no data plan?
