    If its emulsion I detach the roller put a squirt of washing up liquid run it under the tap and squeeze the roller until all the paint is removed.With gloss paint using white spirits in a bucket and squeeze the paint out,you might have to do it a few times.Once the paint is removed using washing...

    You can use either colour depends what finish you want for your walls.I would use emulsion on the walls and gloss on the woodwork,if the woodwork is bear and has not been painted before,you have to prime it then undercoat then the finish coat.
