    Consider the fact that there has never been an open, declared war between two nuclear-armed countries. This is also one of the few types of wars where the nation's politicians actually face a significant risk of getting killed.

    Is politics basically the art of trying to convince everyone else why you're

    smart and they're stupid? Most of the answers on this forum aren't argument so much as "You're an idiot" or "I agree." Political discussion never seems to go anywhere. We just draw lines in the sand and call each other names.
