Why did nokia bring out the n97 mini not long after they released the n97?

Nokia firmware problems please help?
i have a nokia e71 it came with the older version but ovi suggested running the newer 300.21.012 version Is there anyway i could reset it to the older firmware, as it is causing my phone to freeze alot. thanks in advance :) -

why wont my nokia E71 change back to normal?
when activating phone autolock period after around a day i got sick of it so i tried to disable it but it came up with an error saying 'unable to unlock phone' however i tried resetting my phone to factory settings twice but i see no change at all. please help me ! :)
