    Why is it all over the news that catholic priests are abusing children? Why?

    I believe that many priests go into such a field because they feel that they are gay and figure that if they take an oath of chastity, God would prevent them from having such urges.

    There are NO priests in the New Testament Church. No popes either, for that matter. Peter was NOT a pope. Peter was married. Peter didn't want to be looked upon as any better than anyone else. You are the one in denial, NOT the Christians!

    We are all sinners. The only difference between Christians and non-Christians is that we are forgiven. You can be too if you just ask!

    Who in the Church had the authority to determine which books?

    Only God has that authority. He inspired the bible. Remember, Jesus IS the Word. Many books from your bible (Catholic bible) were left out because they are not the inspired Word of God. If they were, they'd line up with the rest of the bible, which they don't.

    I don't know why atheists have a problem with this since they believe that the bible is a fairy tale anyways.
