i do not know about the g1, however i do recommend the gravity 2. my aunt has it and she uses a signature and it's an awesome phone.

i don't think that's the case. the check mark indictates that the recipent opened the message. non-verizon customers don't have that feature unfortunately, so you don't know if the message was opened or not. but i really do think the messages are being received, just maybe not replied to.
