    Mascara techniques to NOT look like a doll?

    When I put mascara on my lower lashes I look like a doll, as if I'm wearing fake lower lashes or something, but if I don't put it on them it makes my eyes look small and squinty (my eyelash color kind of blends in with my skin). Are there any techniques I can use to get around this?
