I understand the basic principles of an AI, and how it would learn text from the user, but how would I be able to have it 'remember' text from previous chats? I'm using G++ on Linux, if that makes much difference.

I am making a script that generates text that looks like fire, and I have most of it, but I would like to know what, if any, script could change the color of, say, a period, while the other characters are a different color. Thanks in advance! I am a neophyte to scripting, and don't understand...
