    Why don't more people buy diesel cars instead of hybrids?

    I own a 2009 VW Jetta TDI (which is diesel) and I can get about 52mpg highway fairly easy. It's not a hybrid, it doesn't have a $10,000 battery to replace every 10yrs or less.     Why do people that drive Toyota's Prius drive horrible?

    I have noticed this on about 90% of Prius owner/drivers (I have kept track for about a year now) they drive 5-10 mph UNDER the posted speed limit and drive in the passing lane alll the time. Why is this?
