    Why do people try to say it is mental illness that would make an American hate the US?

    If you speak your mind about hating the US some people will call you insane or imply that you have mental issues. Just because an American living abroad hates the US and the American way and lets the world know their hatred, does that mean they have a mental illness or self hatred?
