ok s i'm a bit podgy and i've started working out. What do the following achieve in terms of longish term results...
1. doing only cardio?
2. doing only weights?
3. doing both?
i'm also dieting at the same time, so this may affect the answer

One of my friends was always the dumper, never the dumpee.
To this day, she is still that way.
I think the reason why you always do it is cause you fear they will do it to you first.
