Hi there, you will never believe this. I called my Dr.s to check on the EMG and the managed care hasn't even gotten the information for it and has to talk to the dr. yet. I am so sick of getting the run around.. And to add i haven't gotten a call back from the Neurologist office about the other specialist. Why do these people keep screwing around. I am getting so sick of this and will be making calls tommorrow again, i swear they make you be a pain instead of doing thier jobs.

I am sorry that you are getting the run around. Just out of curiosity, do you have a nurse case manager? Not that they are great people or anything, but they sure are great at getting appnts. set up and results from your tests and labs. (Obviously, their job is to get you through all your Drs. appnts. to get you to your MMI quickly.)

Can you call the Dr. that did the EMG, to get your results? I was able to get my the day it was taken.

I wish you luck in getting all the appnts. and test results, that you need.

Monkey, I just think medical office staff are sometimes so over worked that they forget or don't have the time to follow through on everything they should. Unfortunately thru my spinney journey, I have learned that the squeaky wheel gets heard and that you have to be your own advocate and keep pushing until the job gets done. They get tired of hearing from you and then do their job to get rid of you.

I pray that you get your problems resolved soon.

foster, a friend mentioned this to me before but am not sure how to get one? Do i call my Dr.s office and ask? Thanks pepper i am so tired of the runaround!

They are assigned to you by the insurance company and in VA, they are suppose to contact you, at least by phone, withing 48 hrs. after the accident. It did not actually happen like that for me. I got a few phone calls from mine several months after the fall. Then she called every few months after that. Since then, she has left the co. and my new one came to visit me and now she goes with me to every appnt.

Perhaps call you lawyer (or if you don't have one, your case worker). The case worker will definately know if you have one or not. If they were to ask you why you want to talk with her/him, you can always say that you have a question about your condition and was just curious if you have a nurse case manager on your case, that you could speak with.

Remeraber, they do work for the i/c. So, when you do get one, be careful to get just what you need from them and don't say much more than answering their questions. An expample might arise if in casual conversation, she may start the call by saying, "I just called to check in with you and wanted to see how you were doing" I personally would automatically say something like I'm doing fine" etc. If we did not then get into a longer conversation w/ more details, she might write in her report that she called me and I was doing good and that there were no real problems. So, just answer the questions and make sure you are honest with how bad you feel etc.
