A Harley was my first street bike...the Buell Blast if you want to call it a street bike. It was the only bike I could reach the ground on. Rode it for about 1 season/yr. It shook like it was going to come apart. Traded it in for a Ninja 250. This was much smoother riding. Rode for about another year & got the Honda Superhawk 999. Had this lowered & tricked out. My first v-twin, loved the power. Had this for about 5 years until the 1098s came out & jumped on the chance to get this. Have never looked back or regretted the move to the Ducati
Cheesy, am I seeing properly or are you buying a Monster...696 no less? Personally, I think those bikes are allright, but Dude, are the Aussie boys giving you shit or what?
yeah for me and the misses actually. I would like something better to zip around town on. I was debating that or a speed triple. but the V twin keeps me coming back for more
I think the Monster is the shit for riding around town! It's comfortable, touquey and handles pretty good for urban riding. The girlfriend and I fight over who gets to take it to work! The 848 is great for hitting the twisty's but around town it kinda sucks! I'd say the Monster gets riden twice as much as anything else in the garage.
and that's exactly why I want one. I have read similar posts from anyone that has one. maybe even take little longer trips down the highway on. get the ol lady into riding, kinda save the 1098 for the track and twistie runs with the guys. love my1098 but for an every day bike it can get frustrating.
