If you're willing to use a 3rd party calling selection - the cost of international can come way down.
TelAdvantage is one - you dial in to a number for pre-set speed-dial numbers for international calls that you set up via the web.
My cost to call China is nearly nothing compared to other "carriers."
I dial in, have preset speed-dial numbers that I punch a number for 1(speed dials a number) 2(speed dials another number), 3, etc., etc.
I just put a balance on the account - $25 or so and can make LOT of calls around the world at pretty great rates. Now . . .
On occasion the connections needs to be redialed, but heck, for what it costs compared to "regular dialing," it's well worth it.
