Not yet but if you get to know, could you share the Dates with us here on the Forum, I will do the same.

Thanks

I just got my HD upgrade install today. Long time in planning and decided to rent the 9200 for 1 year.

Anyways....the installer was saying that there is something in the works, a larger dish that can see 3 satellites (dish network has the same thing??) and a new receiver or 2. So there will be alot of dish upgrades if BEV comes out with good receivers. He mentioned December of this year, but said with Bell, you never know, it could be Feb 08.

Having said that, when I hear FULL HD, I expect that to mean 1080p so if that is the case and BEV uses this marketing term, then I would expect it to be 1080p receiver, but how would that work with the TV stations only being 720p? Who knows.

Well I am going, it will be worth the drive to see what these bozo's are going to say.

Hope I get to ask some questions.

If there are hand out's etc, I will post them here.

Nimiq1:

That's hilarious!!!!!

So the first "article" was a fluff piece written IN ADVANCE of the event but pretending to be an account of what happened.

Then the second "article" stated what really happened.

And the second "article" replaced the first, rather than providing an updated second report. So much for "truth" in journalism.

noelk, I think we all agree now that it is a marketing campaign but their target audience is people who frequent this site!

The truth is this site gets 300,000 unique visitors a month and chances are that most people who bought an HDTV in Canada in the last three years and researched that purchase on-line spent some time on this site.

This sounds suspiciously like full BS, not full HD.

You mean like Showcase HD, National Graphics HD, MMorHD, reliable, glitch free prime time US network feeds and TMN movies... trust me, I know.

Yes, I believe you have, Sensual Poet.

Although I do seem to remember that Playing in the Cinema Section of the Trailer there was a clip with the National Geographic Channel logo in the bottom right corner. I wish I had video taped the thing now.

I had NEVER seen any of the content shown on the 9200's on a broadcast channel on Express Vu, I should have asked how they put the Video on the PVR..... I will ask at the next one, if I get a Date and City, from Hugh......

That is how it appears to me......

I don't even know why I decided to follow that old link again today, and then when I did, I had to check my details.

So as you say, the "truth" in this article has now changed.....lol

Bell got the subs for expressvu with the Bell name, almost free receivers and it was cheaper than cable. Now they got to scrabble to keep them. The way is "HDTV".
They run into a possible backfire when the target audience not only figures out HDTV but figures out the quality of HDTV that Expressvu offers.

Was just offered a deal by Shaw on the weekend to switch back, am waiting to see what the announcement is, if it is new hardware with no upgrade plan for existing customers then off I go!

I honestly believe that the majority of HDTV owners don't have the box and programming. It could be 50% plus one, but that's a majority.

I had a HDTV television for 3+ years and just got 9200 and programming this week. I know more people who have the TV, but not box and programming, both cable and satellite.

thanks for the pictures.... really looks like there was not many people there to assist to this.

I am also disappointed with the hd selection available...most folks should know you can get most of it already with a simple OTA antenna setup...especially in Toronto.

You can pick up lots for free.... too bad i live too far away from the CN tower here.

Shannon was not bad looking at all
You dont need a set top box to get HD, you can also use your DVD player, or a cheap $19.99 antenna to pick up HD channels, with NO monthly charges (if you live in the Toronto area, you can get a half dozen channels!)
The special effects team looks a little rusty (I guess they havent worked much since the days of the Littlest Hobo, and The BeachCombers)
Man that was some cheasy stuff
