New Channel Lineup Coming?

The people in Ontario don`t get the 4 digit channels only 3 digit channels.

Anybody know if any replacement channels are coming to replace the recently deleted Cool TV, Muchmusic Retro, and Xtreme Sports.

Do you think they are doing this because they are going to add some new HD channels now? Or is this just for the future and really meens nothing??

According to the Uplink Reports Bell just did what was mentioned earlier in this thread.

TSN 400
TSN HD 1400

All HD channels are now the same channel number as their SD counterpart except there is a 1 in the front of it.

i thought bell stopped doing this change last year because it was messing everything up?

I wonder how liong the "old" channels will be listed for. I guess its time to delete and recreate all 60+ timers %&$%^$

How are the channels that do not have an SD equivalent going to be numbered (Treasure, Rush, Oasis, HDNet, ...)?

Well, a new satellite means more capacity, and they will eventually run out of numbers, so this is necessary. One thing, though, I'm surprised they've not used channels 01-48....

A remap of the channels/numbers is typical every year or so, usually to realign the groupings to accomodate new/dropped channels, but mainly just to mess with peoples timers, favourite lists, etc :)

I checked my 9242 this morning and still no channels mapped in the 1000's. I would have thought they would get picked up over night, or did Bell back out of this idea?

Does anybody know why Bell does not use channels 1 to 48? Does Bell have any plans to use these channels in the future.

all there doing is shuffling around the premium movie channels. if you acully go to the channel and watch it for more than 2 seconds you would see that

Well this is my take on the channel line up.

I see 001-099 will be barker & Describe Video Channels
I see 100-700 being basically the way they are now
I see 800-999 being Audio (Radio, Galaxy & either XM or Sirius Radio)
I see 1000+ being HD channels

The thing is more then likely in 10 years all local channels will be in HD & SD. More then likely the majority of the specialty one(popular ones) will be in HD & SD.

So assuming as example all the channels presently on BEV went HD (and assuming BEV could handle this) there wouldn't be enough room in the 800's, hense move them in the 1000'+ range and you basically got 1000 to 9999 to play with.
