Has anyone tried using one of these unlocked phones on Tmobile or AT&T by inserting an existing SIM card?

I'm told it works but I'm skeptical. I suspect there are some features that come on the tails of an iPhone contract which is a two year obligation I'd like to avoid. Horror stories welcome.

Thanks

I have never tried one of these, but I don't believe they support Microsoft Push E-Mail or anything Microsoft related at all, and probably just support Web browsing and normaly phone functions, but I am not sure.

I would try one if your looking for a new phone because your board with your current one, and can not find one you like so much.

There also is a service ( I can not think of the name of it to save my life) that you could rent a phone for a period of time, and then send it back in (Kind of like Netflix for cellphones) and they may have that phone so you can use it for a month, and then send it back or buy it from them. If you want to try that, PM me and I will find the name of the place.

I would be interested in knowing the name of that lease service. That sounds like a good way to puzzle out the features that I need without getting into a contract.
Thanks

I will have to check and see if I can find it. I did do a quick google and it seems there are more and more companies doing this, so try a search of "rental cell phones"... wait now I rememeber, and I am not endorsing them, but Rentobile dot com is the name of the website I learned of this. They may or may not have the phone your looking for, but you can also try Googling it and see what other companies offer.

Good luck!!

when it comes to iphone knockoffs, i can say the best one out there is the Sciphone i68+.

a lot of people from tmobile / at&t have used this phone. for more info, visit the Sciphone official forums.
