This word is often used in Nigeria Scams, suggesting that the prize money has been insured in my name but the fee for that (which of course I am to pay) cannot be deducted from the funds so that I have to pay in advance. My question now is whether there is such a thing like a hardcover insurance at all.
There may be similar situations with checks. Only the total amount can be paid out on presentation - or nothing at all if the check is not fully covered. This is somehow related to the hardcover sum in the scam. And according to me, there must be a word for this. I hope you understand what I mean.
I have still another question concerning the language of the scams: Those guys often are referring to huge sums of money as .... million US$ "ONLY". I would understand this if they were writing about pennies. Any idea?
