I'm currently a member of FIRST robotics team in the state of FL. I'm trying to put the word out about STEM and robotics. The question that I'm trying to ask is, is Robotics (building a robot that can perform a task in a competition setting) a sport. I'm getting sick and tired of people putting down the smart kids (even kids that want to exceed) and telling them to join something that is a true sport! I think is it a sport because the def on dictionary.com is "an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature, as racing, baseball, tennis, golf, bowling, wrestling, boxing, hunting, fishing, etc."...trust me you need muscle to move a 120 lb robot. What do you think of this issue?
